If you let Narendra Modi fail now, no PM will dare to fight corruption for 100 years, says a new video

The criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a "dictator who disrupted people's lives" is being countered by an emotional video in Gujarat made by his supporters that argues that the country has never had a PM like him who has worked tirelessly without a day's break, fought black money, motivated soldiers and is trying hard to create a "clean India" without playing caste or vote bank politics like other politicians.

Shot at a roadside barber's shop in Gujarat, the video shows an angry young man interrupting a conversation between two Gujaratis who call Modi a "dictator jene pathari fervi kaadi che ( a dictator who has brought in bad times for people)." The man lectures them for over 3 minutes on "how Modi who starts working at 5 am everyday, spends Diwali with soldiers, doesn't throw cocktail parties for journalists or take friends on foreign tours," is a novel PM for the country.

Citing the examples of Sonia Gandhi and Lalu Prasad Yadav who are only "setting their sons in right places" and Mulayam Singh Yadav who is "setting a secured future for his entire family," the video sarcastically says the country needs to think if it deserves a PM like Narendra Modi who is only interested in "setting the future of the country right."

Warning people that "if Modi fails no other Indian PM will dare to fight corruption in 100 years," the video praises Narendra Modi for "risky and suicidal" decisions that he took for the benefit of the country such as demonetization or surgical strikes, despite knowing that the system will disown him if they backfired.




It applauds him for taking steps for improving lives of the poor by rolling out schemes such as skill India and Start Up India, instead of building caste alliances and filling up the coffers of the party. "You have made a name for the country in foreign countries but your nephews have never been on a flight. Has the country ever seen a PM like him?" the video ends on a sentimental note, with the man introducing himself as "Hu vikaas chu, Hu chu Gujarat," the BJP's tagline for this election.

In in the lead-up to the Gujarat elections slated in December both BJP and Congress have been aggressive on social media with catchy taglines and videos. After its 'vikas gando thayo che' social media campaign Congress had launched a Gando_Vikas_Ni_Chelli_Diwali (mad vikas' last Diwali) on social media a few weeks ago.
