IB warns of plot by terror groups to attack Poonch District Jail, army installations in J&K
Many terrorists, both convicted and under-trials, are lodged in the Poonch jail and security is being beefed up as a result of the input.

ET has learnt that in a latest report to the Union Home Ministry earlier this week, the Intelligence Bureau has warned of a specific plot by the Al-Badr and Tehreek-e-Jehad terror groups to infiltrate from the Poonch Sector in J&K to target Army installations and the Poonch District Jail.
Many terrorists, both convicted and under-trials, are lodged in the Poonch jail and security is being beefed up as a result of the input. Yet another input speaks of plans of the Hizbul Mujahedeen to target CPM workers in the Kulgam district of J&K and has specifically named Zahoor Ahmed, who had unsuccessfully contested last year’s assembly elections from Wanchi constituency on a CPM ticket, as a target of the terrorist groups.
The IB report is said to have flagged off several other inputs about possible terror attacks on Border Out Posts by LeT terrorists in the Poonch and Gurez sectors after infiltration attempts and mention that the BSF, Northern Command of the Indian Army and J&K Police have been duly alerted of these threats.
