IAS academy breach: Harish Rawat turns down request for CBI probe
DEHRADUN: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has turned down state police's request seeking a CBI probe into the unauthorised stay of a woman at the IAS training academy in Mussoorie for over six months masquerading as a probationer.

Rejecting the plea for a CBI probe into the case, the Chief Minister said he wants the state police to take its ongoing investigations into the case to its logical conclusion first, then alone the question whether to launch a probe by another higher agency into the case will arise, sources at the Chief Minister's Office said here today.

Earlier this month, Garhwal Range IG Sanjay Gunjyal, on the basis of suggestions from Dehradun SSP, had written to the Chief Minister seeking a probe by the apex investigating agency into the case as it involves a national level institution.

Ruby Chaudhury, who hails from Muzaffarnagar in UP, had stayed at the prestigious IAS training academy for over six months masquerading as a probationer and had accused a senior officer of taking bribe to facilitate her stay.

She was later arrested in the first week of April and is currently under judicial custody.
