IAF, Navy adjudged best marching contingents among Services

NEW DELHI: The Air Force and the Navy jointly have been adjudged as the best marching contingents in the Republic Day parade among the three Services while CISF bagged the honours among the paramilitary forces.

Kerala has bagged the top spot in the tableau section where more than ten states and ministries had showcased art, culture and traditions during the parade, the Defence Ministry said in a release.

"On the basis of the assessment of the panels of judges, the Navy and the IAF have jointly bagged the best marching contingent award among the three Services while CISF contingent was adjudged the best among the paramilitary and other auxilary contingents," it said.

Kerala stood first among the tableaux of states and various central government ministries and departments while Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh secured second and third place respectively.

The tableau presented by CPWD was selected for a special prize.
