Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said he would remain the CM without a doubt seeking to put a full stop to the speculations about a change of leadership in Karnataka.

Sections of Congress ministers have kept the subject alive by making statements every passing day about their desire to succeed Siddaramaiah adding fuel to the rumor mills. The immediate trigger for speculations was Governor Thawarchand Gehlot permitting prosecution of the CM in the case of allotment of 14 housing plots in Mysuru to his wife Parvathy.

The CM’s writ petition challenging the permission will come up for hearing before the high court on Thursday. Political circles are floating the possibility of the CM stepping down if he faced a setback in the ongoing court case.

Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said the subject does not deserve a discussion when the position was not vacant. There had been no discussion on the subject at the high command level, too, he added.
