I want to work again in AIIMS if reborn: Venugopal
P Venugopal has no regrets for bitter turf war with Union Health Minister and wants to work at the premier institute again if "reborn".
The 66-year-old cardiac surgeon, whose tenure at AIIMS ends today, said he has no regrets from his tenure.
"I have given 49 years of my life to the institute and have no regrets of my tenure," he said.
The AIIMS Director said he has had a satisfying stint at the institute which has been rated at the best since the last 10 years.
"If reborn, I want to come back and work at AIIMS," he said.
On his future plans after leaving the institute today, Venugopal said he wants to take care of poor and serve humanity.
The eminent surgeon had been locked in a bitter turf war with Ramadoss specially since the 2006 anti-reservation agitation in AIIMS.
He was reinstated by the Supreme Court on May 8 after being removed as Director by the Government in November after passing a legislation in the Parliament fixing the age of the AIIMS head at 65 years.
T D Dogra would take over as the Acting Director today.
