I-T searches at properties of TDP MLA in Telangana, Karnataka

HYDERABAD: The Income Tax Department conducted searches at various properties belonging to TDP MLA Rajender Reddy from Narayanpet constituency in Telangana, official sources said today.

The searches were carried out yesterday at some of the educational institutions belonging to a trust run by Reddy in Karnataka also, the sources said.

Sources told PTI that "searches have been indeed carried out but they are routine in nature. There is no significance attached to it."

When contacted a senior official of the IT Department while confirming the searches, refused to divulge the details of money or documents found during the investigation.

Reports, however, indicate that the IT sleuths seized cash over Rs 18 crore besides some important documents during the searches carried out in multiple locations in both the states.
