I-T officials search hotel group headed by ex-bureaucrat

AHMEDABAD: The Income Tax officials today searched 40 establishments of a group of hotels and resorts, headed by a former bureaucrat of Gujarat.

"Searches are being conducted simultaneously on 40 establishments belonging to a hotel and resort group in Mumbai, Jaipur, Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad, and few other cities," a top I-T official said.

"Former IAS officer Sanjay Gupta is the CMD of the Neesa Group, which owns the hotels and resorts where the raids are going on," the official said.

However, I-T officials did not divulge details of the seizure so far as the raids are still under progress.
