CHENNAI: Asserting that he neither indulged in any anti-party activitiy nor violated the party discipline, outgoing Union IT and Communication Minister Dayanidhi Maran on Monday said he would meet DMK patriarch and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to explain his position.
"I am not a person who thinks of betrayal of the party leadership or the party. I am born as a DMK man and I will die as a DMK man. I am sad that I have been accused of indulging in anti-party activities which I never did," Maran, who arrived here cutting short his holiday in Udhagamandalam, told a press conference.
"I am not sad that I have been removed from my ministerial post," Maran, who announced his resignation yesterday after the DMK decided to get him sacked from the Union Cabinet, said.
Asked whether he would resign his Lok Sabha membership, he said if the party leadership wanted he was prepared to do so.
