The eighth edition of 'I for Afrika' will be held in Mumbai in September with participation of several African business delegates across sectors.

NEW DELHI: ‘I for Afrika’ is an initiative by Indo-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry strengthening business partnership with focus on sectors of high priority, enhancing capacity building initiatives and resources mobilization programs, thereby acting as a facilitator for exchange of Business, culture and tourism between India and Africa for the past 8 years in a row.

At a Curtain Raiser Program on 'I for Afrika' here on Tuesday, Amar Sinha – Secretary (Economic Relations) MEA, said, “India-Africa Chamber of Commerce is doing a commendable job by organizing ‘I For Afrika’ event that provides platform for both Indian and African businesses to interact with each other. The government’s focus has been to re-energise and re-invigorate the relations between India and Africa. It is gratifying to see that the efforts have been taking solid shape through various landmark deals in the past 6 months to one year. Through such events as these we hope to further enhance the mutual cooperation and trade.”

Manoj Dwivedi, Jt. Secretary Africa – Ministry of Commerci said, “India and Africa share not only trade and investment cooperation, but above else, what binds us together is our shared cultural and emotional values. There are a lot of cultural and historical commonalities between the two regions that host almost 1/3rd of global population. This is an excellent opportunity for both India and the African countries to learn from each other’s successes and strive forward in the path of development.”

The Indo-African Chamber of Commerce & Industry created in 1985 is a non-profit institute & industry managed organization and has been promoting business ties between India and the African continent.
