Attorney General G E Vahanvati today sought to steer clear of any controversy in the 2G spectrum allocation scam.

NEW DELHI: Attorney General G E Vahanvati today sought to steer clear of any controversy in the 2G spectrum allocation scam telling the Supreme Court that he has not given any opinion to the Department of Telecom over allocation issue and had only discussions on the issue.

"I had not given any opinion and only held discussions," Vahanvati told a bench of justices G S Singhvi and A K Ganguly which was hearing the petitions seeking cancellation of licences for 2G spectrum during the tenure of A Raja as Telecom Minister.
