Aaditya’s remark comes after Opposition BJP leaders insinuated that that the police probe was meant to shield a " young minister " in the Thackeray government.

Issuing a statement Aaditya said that those who could not bear to see how the Maharashtra government has ‘performed so well’ and is ‘so popular’ among the people were behind the allegations of his involvement in the Sushant Singh case.
The Maharashtra minister also alleged this was done by those "who are ‘upset at their own failures" adding that it was a a "disgrace to humanity" that his name was being dragged into a death case for political reasons.
Thackeray in his statement went on to say that the film Industry provided 1,000s of jobs and that ‘Bollywood’ was an important part of it and that he has several friends among the industry. Calling the death of Sushant Singh Rajput unfortunate, Aaditya said that the Mumbai police was investigating the case and that if anyone had any concrete information in the case then they could hand it over to the police.
