Hyderabad will be a slum-free city soon, says CM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said the govt is determined to develop Hyderabad and provide maximum civic amenities to the people.

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday said the Government is determined to develop Hyderabad and provide maximum civic amenities to the people.

Hyderabad will be a slum-free city soon and this project will be taken up under the Rajiv Awaas Yojana, an official release quoted him as saying.

The Chief Minister said in order to reduce flooding road widening was taken up for 15 drains at a cost of Rs 256 crore.

He toured several areas today and inaugurated a number of civic infrastructure facilities.

Reddy inaugurated the 33/11 K V A sub-station of APCPDCL at Malakpet gunj (Mahboob Mansion). Later he laid foundation stone for a 132/33 K V A sub station of APTRANSCO at Amberpet STP area. He also visited the Mahankali Temple at Amberpet.

The Chief Minister visited Golnaka and inaugurated the new bridge constructed across Musi. He also laid the foundation stone for a new bridge across Hussain Sagar Surplus Nala connecting Golnaka to Krishna Nagar.
