The Governor, who reviewed the police firing incident with senior cops, also announced sanctioning of an ex-gratia of Rs 6 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to those injured as per norms, besides free medical treatment for them.
Many persons, including ten police personnel, were injured in heavy stone pelting in the clashes.
Narasimhan said that compensation should be paid to the victims, who lost property in the clashes that broke out between members of two communities over alleged burning of a religious flag yesterday, as per the set norms.
