Hunger for power prevented Congress from heeding to Mahatma Gandhi's advice: Babulal Gaur
BHOPAL: Senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Minister Babulal Gaur today said " hunger for power" prevented the Congress party from heeding to Mahatma Gandhi's advice to disband itself after Independence.

In a statement here, he also objected to Congress invoking former Prime Minister and BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee to target Narendra Modi. Gaur said it was ironic that Congress which didn't pay heed to Gandhiji's advice to dissolve itself, was now using Vajpayee's "Rajdharma" remarks post 2002 riots to target the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate.

The Congress had turned down the Father of Nation's advice only because of its "hunger for power", the Madhya Pradesh Home Minister maintained. The country's oldest party has become "communal and anti-people" and it was on the verge of extinction, the BJP leader claimed.
