Huge cache of arms seized in Assam

TINSUKIA (ASSAM): In a major haul of arms belonging to the ULFA, police on Saturday seized 27 AK-56 rifles and a huge quantity of ammunition in upper Assam's Tinsukia district.

On a tip off, police in neighbouring Dibrugarh district launched a joint operation with their counterpart in Tinsukia this morning and recovered arms and ammunition.

The rifles and ammunition were hidden inside a rice granary at Sadiya, police said.
