HP hikes pension of World War II soldiers, widows

The Himachal Pradesh government on Friday announced increasing financial assistance to soldiers and widows of ex-servicemen who fought the World War II from Rs 200 to Rs 500 per month.


SHIMLA : The Himachal Pradesh government on Friday announced increasing financial assistance to soldiers and widows of ex-servicemen who fought the World War II from Rs 200 to Rs 500 per month.

The announcement to increase the pension by 150 per cent was made by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal in the state assembly.

Dhumal later told reporters that over 1500 families will be benefited in the state by this decision.
