SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh government will make all out efforts and coordinate with the Centre to get the Rohtang tunnel completed at the earliest.
Inaugurating a skiing competition at Manali, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee had envisaged the project and sanctioned funds for the construction of the tunnel to connect the land locked Lahaul valley through an all-weather motorable road.
He said tourism would get boost with the connectivity of Lahaul besides reducing the road distance by about 70 km between Manali and Keylong.
