HP assembly adopts four amendment Bills on private university

Himachal Pradesh assembly today adopted four amendment Bills to raise the period for dissolution of a private university from 25 to 50 yrs.

SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh assembly today adopted four amendment Bills to raise the period for dissolution of a private university from 25 to 50 years.

The identical amendment bills in respect of Shri Sai University, Eternal University, Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst of India University and Chitkara University provided that "in case the sponsoring body dissolves the university before 50 years of its establishment, all the assets of the university, including assets of the sponsoring body pertaining to the university, shall vest in government, free from all encumbrances.

The government had proposed time limit of 40 years in the bills introduced yesterday but passed the bills in amended form further increasing the time limit to 50 years.
