How a Mumbai woman tracked down the man who stole her phone

She logged into her account from another phone, turned on the location on her stolen phone and used Google's "My Activity" feature to track the activities done through her phone. ​

She noticed that the person who stole her phone had downloaded songs from Rajinikanth starrer ‘Kaala'. He also booked a Dadar-Tiruvannamalai railway ticket.
A 19-year-old teacher in Mumbai managed to track the man who stole her phone by using features offered by a Google account.

The woman, Zeenat Banu Haq, was returning from Malad when she lost her Xiaomi 4A smartphone. “I couldn’t recollect where my phone went missing,” Zeenat said.

She logged into her account from another phone, turned on the location on her stolen phone and used Google's "My Activity" feature to track the activities done through her phone.


She noticed that the person who stole her phone had downloaded songs from Rajinikanth starrer ‘Kaala'. He also booked a Dadar-Tiruvannamalai railway ticket. The woman found the ticket details and also managed to find the picture of the guy.

Then, with the help of the RPF she tracked down the thief.
