New Delhi: As the impasse in Parliament shows no signs of abating after washout of the first week, BJP intensified its attack on Rahul Gandhi with party chief JP Nadda alleging he is a "permanent part of the anti-India toolkit". The ruling party is adamant that the only way out is for Gandhi to tender an apology for his remarks in the UK recently that Indian democracy is in peril under the Narendra Modi government.

On Friday, Nadda launched a scathing attack on Gandhi. "After being repeatedly rejected by the nation, Rahul Gandhi has now become a permanent part of the anti-India toolkit". He alleged that the Congress leader has sought the intervention of foreign forces in India as democracy here is in danger.

"What can be more shameful than this? By criticizing the state of democracy in India and seeking the intervention of the foreign forces on foreign soil, Rahul Gandhi has attacked India's sovereignty. I want to ask him what his intentions are behind urging foreign forces to interfere in India's domestic matters?" Nadda said. He charged Gandhi with "conniving with foreign conspirators" and thus trying to weaken India.

Nadda maintained that never before has any Indian leader appealed to foreign powers to act against an Indian government. "Rahul Gandhi, you will have to apologise to the people for this sin committed against the country," he said.

The BJP Chief maintained that Gandhi's words in the UK prove that the earlier statements of Congress leaders Mani Shankar Aiyar and Salman Kursheed urging Pakistan to help remove Narendra Modi from the top post was the official position of the main opposition.

Nadda also raked up the atrocities committed during the national emergency and the threat to the Constitution then.

"Why is the language of anti-India George Soros and Rahul Gandhi the same? Why is the language of Pakistan and Congress the same? Why is the language of anti-nationals and Congress leaders the same?" Nadda said.
