Hope right to personal choices is preserved: Kapil Sibal
The government and Congress had went on an overdrive to criticise the SC judgement reinstating ban on gay sex.

"The government has filed a review petition on #377 in the Supreme Court today. Let's hope the right to personal choices is preserved," Sibal posted on Twitter.
The government and Congress had went on an overdrive to criticise the SC judgement reinstating ban on gay sex.
The apex court had set aside a four-year old Delhi High Court order which read down Section 377 of IPC making same sex relations a criminal offence.
The government's keenness to work out a quick strategy to get out of the logjam in the wake of the SC judgement came after Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice-President Rahul Gandhi expressed disappointment over the apex court's verdict.
"We will have to change the law. If the SC has upheld that law, then we will certainly have to take firm steps. Change has to be made fast and any delay cannot take place. We will use all means available to make changes at the earliest," Sibal had said following the uproar over the ruling.
