BJP chief Amit Shah reiterated his party’s commitment towards the construction of a grand Ram mandir in Ayodhya after the judicial resolution of the case by the Supreme Court.

“In BJP’s manifesto, we have clearly said that we want a legal recourse to the case and want to construct a Ram mandir as early as possible. The next hearing is in January. We are hopeful that the Ram Janmabhoomi case will be heard on fast track. After the decision, a grand Ram Mandir will be constructed at the same place where the idol of Ram Lala is installed. It is our promise to our countrymen and we will not back out by even an inch,” he said while interacting with youth in ‘Yuva ki baat, Amit Shah ke saath’ programme, which was also attended by chief minister Vasundhara Raje.

He said Congress leader Kapil Sibal appealed before the court to “defer the hearing till July 2019”. “But lawyers of BJP government said that this is the oldest case of the country and it should be heard at the earliest,” he said. Hesaidthe BJP government has zero tolerance towards terrorism, whether it stems from Kashmir or the Naxals.

“When our government came in Assam, we brought the National Register of Citizens to weed out infiltrators. We have identified 40 lakh illegal immigrants out of the 3-cr population. Congress protects these infiltrators as they are its votebank. BJP will drive away each and every infiltrator from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Gujarat to Assam,” he said.

He said the Modi government has done a commendable job in bringing growth rate back on track. It has increased from 4.4% to 7.3% under the Modi government and it will translate into jobs and skill development.

He said GST has contributed to the growth. He compared it to quinine taken to cure malaria, which is bitter but treats the disease. “We accept there was compliance issues in the beginning, but we took measures to make it easier for MSMEs...,” he said.
