Hooda hails ordinance on Food Security Bill

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today hailed the decision of Union Cabinet to bring an ordinance on food security, saying it would put India in the select band of countries.

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today hailed the decision of Union Cabinet to bring an ordinance on food security, saying it would put India in the select band of countries.

"The Ordinance will ensure food security for nation's two-thirds population. It will guarantee 5 kg of rice, wheat and coarse cereals per month per person at a fixed price of Rs three, Rs two and Re one respectively," he said.

Hooda said the landmark decision would put India in the select band of countries which guarantee majority of their population foodgrains which is the basic right of a human being.
