Home minister should be dismissed: Goa MP Shantaram Naik
PANAJI: Congress MP Shantaram Naik today alleged that the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had violated the oath of office with his remark that "secularism" was the "most misused" term and said he should be dismissed.

"Singh has no right to remain in his post and deserves to be dismissed by the President of India, more particularly because he has given fillip to the unconstitutional views of those who have spread the air of intolerance in the country," Naik said in a statement released by his office here.

Singh made a reference to secularism while initiating a day-long debate on the ' Commitment to India's Constitution' as part of 125th birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar in the Lok Sabha on the first day of the Winter session of Parliament.

"Secularism is the most misused word in the country. Its misuse should come to an end. Because of the rampant misuse of the word, there have been instances of tension in the society," Singh said.
