Home Minister reviews disaster management, border management divisions
Home Min Rajnath Singh today directed his ministry officials to ensure better coordination with state governments to deal with any natural disaster.

The directive came when the Home Minister reviewed the working of the Ministry's disaster management and border management divisions here today. The disaster management division briefed the Home Minister regarding the preparedness measures taken by state governments in the context of the southwest monsoon.
"The Home Minister directed that the required coordination with the state governments should be stepped up so that the central ministries are able to extend all possible support to the state governments in disaster response," a Home Ministry spokesperson said.
Singh also directed that all the concerned organisations, including the National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Forces, Civil Defense, Home Guards and Fire Services should work together with synergy, so as to minimise the loss of human lives and property during natural disasters.
Border Management Division made a comprehensive presentation about the land border security with neighbouring countries. The Home Minister reviewed the ongoing border development projects and directed that the division should immediately prepare an effective development plan of border areas.
Singh said he will take up the proposal with the concerned ministries for environmental clearances and infrastructure development. A separate briefing will be organised for the Home Minister on coastal security. The Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Home Secretary Anil Goswami and Secretary Border Management Sneh Lata Kumar were also present.
