Home Minister Rajnath Singh gets stuck in lift, rescued from the roof
The lift's roof was then opened by the OSD to the Minister and a chair was dropped inside the lift from the first floor to rescue the occupants.

Singh was attending a CRPF function when he got into the lift to go to the first floor of the building, along with Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary, CRPF Director General Prakash Mishra and OSD to the Home Minister, BK Singh. The lift reportedly is equipped only to carry three persons and got stuck between the ground and first floor on the account of being overweight since four officials were using it, officials said. "ITBP Chief Krishna Chaudhary was also supposed to get into the lift at the ground floor but was asked to wait...ultimately, the lift was unable to handle four persons as well," an official witness to the scene said.
The lift's roof was then opened by the OSD to the Minister and a chair was dropped inside the lift from the first floor to rescue the occupants. The Home Minister made his OSD exit through the roof first by climbing the chair, followed by the MoS Home and the CRPF DG. Singh, who later recounted the incident in his speech at the CRPF function, said he chose to exit the last from the lift after others were rescued. "The CRPF should work with the same spirit in helping others," Singh told the CRPF officers and Jawans at the function.
