At the state Secretariat, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi administered the pledge to State Government employees at the military Ground inside the Secretariat premises.

Union Minister of state for Shipping and Road Transport, K H Muniyappa, AICC secretary K B Krishnamurthy, TNCC president M Krishnasamy and a host of Congress leaders paid tributes to their leader at the memorial by taking the pledge against terrorism on the occasion.
