HOD of FTII community radio files complaint with police against alleged threat by students
The controversy over the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) students going on strike against the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as Chairman has taken a new turn on Tuesday. Sanjay Chandikar, Head of Department (HOD) of the FTII Community Radio complained to the Pune police claiming that he was threatened by the agitating FTII students and has demanded police protection as fears for his safety in the campus.

Chandikar has complained to the Prabhat Road police station in Pune against the FTII students. The move comes a day after the FTII has sought police protection at the institute, after a symbolic formation of a big ‘question mark’ installed by the agitating students was found vandalized on Sunday night.
The FTII students have been demanding that the government withdraw the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as FTII Chairman as he has no ‘credentials’ and claim that he was only appointed as he was close to the RSS. The government has warned that if the strike continued then the students would be rusticated however the students have ignored the warning.
