A court in Hisar will today pronounce the verdict in two murder cases against controversial godman Rampal of Satlok Ashram.

The two cases of murder dates back to November 2014. The first case pertains to the death of a woman in the Satlok Ashram in Barwala and in the second four women and a child had died when thousands of followers of Rampal had clashed with police when they had come to arrest him following directions of the Punjab and Haryana high court after committed contempt of court.

In both cases, recording of prosecution and defence witnesses has been completed. The arguments were also completed on October 8 in the court set up at Hisar jail. After hearing the arguments from both sides, additional sessions Judge D R Chalia had then fixed the cases for Thursday.

Meanwhile, anticipating violence, the state police yesterday held a flag march in various parts of the district. Thousands of Rampal's followers are expected to arrive in Hisar today.

Reportedly, trains from various other states to Hisar has also been stopped.
