Himachal Pradesh's electoral history

Himachal Pradesh, which became a full-fledged state only in 1971, first came into being as a centrally administered territory on April 15, 1948, by the integration of 30 erstwhile princely states. Though it was classified as a part ‘C’ state since 1950, it was made a Union Territory in 1956.
