High Court asks DDA to hasten CWG village completion work

The Delhi HC ordered the DDA to hasten the process of issuing completion certificates for towers at the Commonwealth Games Village.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Thursday ordered the Delhi Development Authority ( DDA) to hasten the process of issuing completion certificates for towers at the Commonwealth Games Village.

The court has directed the authority to issue completion certificates for all towers, except four-two each belonging to Emaar-MGF (tower 5 and 15), the developer of the project and DDA (tower 26 and 28).

There are a total of 34 apartment towers at the Games Village, with 1,168 flats, of which Emaar MGF owns around 400 flats and the rest belong to DDA. Emaar MGF had earlier sold almost all flats that it owns.

The court also pulled up DDA for discriminating and issuing completion certificates for its own towers without clearing towers in which flats are owned by a number of customers.
