Hero worship: Modi fan pens chalisa on CM
Although Gujarat's " chhappan ki chhaati " chief minister Narendra Modi now has a chalisa (40 verses) written on him, it leads to one comparison that might get him bothered: With Lalu Prasad.

AHMEDABAD: Although Gujarat's " chhappan ki chhaati " chief minister Narendra Modi now has a chalisa (40 verses) written on him, it leads to one comparison that might get him bothered: With Lalu Prasad.
The reason is the Bihar strongman, who never misses a chance to take digs at Modi, is the only other leader who has had a chalisa written on him.
But these considerations didn't present themselves before Ramesh Mishra, a bard and a Modi fan, when he decided to pen a Modi chalisa . In an amusing instance of cult worship, this Ahmedabad businessman has recorded a VCD which has a Modi chalisa , Modi aarti and even a sanedo on Modi -- sanedo being a folk song celebrating love, the word a dialectical improvisation on sneh.
Mishra, who owns a mobile shop and runs a travel business, belongs to UP but has become a self-confessed worshipper of CM Narendra Modi.
Mishra says he migrated to Gujarat some 17 years ago and has been following Modi's style of functioning since the past five years. He says he's quite overwhelmed by his recent assembly elections victory.
The win prompted Mishra to hum hosannas in Modi's honour, who he compares with Lord Ram! " Kan kan mein Ram, kan kan mein Hanuman. Man, man mein Modi base, Modi Ram samaan ," goes the chalisa .
