Here’s how unimportant upper classes are to this election

There are only 17 constituencies in the country where more than a fifth of households own all of the following : a phone, a computer, a TV set and a motorised vehicle (two- or four-wheeler). These are concentrated in cities such as Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Chandigarh,Gurgaon and Hyderabad.

Overall, according to the 2011 census, only 4.6% of households in this country own all four assets. Individual constituencies with more than 5% of such households are shown as dark green (a total of 167), while constituencies with less than 1% of such households are shown as dark red (87).
