Hemant Soren takes oath, drops Pathalgadi cases

Soon after taking oath, Soren held the first cabinet meeting of the new government where it was decided that all cases related to Pathalgadi movement of tribals, which were registered in 2018 by the previous state government, will be withdrawn.

NEW DELHI: JMM executive president Hemant Soren on Sunday took oath as the 11th chief minister of Jharkhand. The swearing-in ceremony took place at Morabadi Ground in Ranchi and was attended by a number of opposition leaders and chief ministers of states.

Apart from Soren, three ministers also took oath on Sunday. The assembly session would begin on January 6 with members taking oath and the vote of confidence would take place on January 8.
