Hema Malini-led NDA delegation to visit Karur

New Delhi: An eight-member NDA delegation, led by BJP MP Hema Malini, will visit Karur in Tamil Nadu to look into the circumstances that led to a stampede during a TVK rally on September 27 and also meet the affected families.

The BJP, which usually sends its own party leaders for investigation to places of such tragic incidents, has this time constituted an NDA delegation, comprising MPs from its allies Shiv Sena and TDP. The delegation constituted by BJP president JP Nadda includes Shiv Sena's Shrikant Shinde and TDP's Putta Mahesh Kumar.

Hema Malini, a Bollywood actor, who hails from Tamil Nadu originally, will be the convener of the panel to investigate the stampede at TVK chief Vijay's rally.
