The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted moderate to heavy rain at various places of NCR.
IMD had forecast thunderstorm with wind speed 20-40 kmph in parts of Northeast Delhi, East Delhi, Preet Vihar, Defence Colony, Southeast Delhi, Noida, Panipat, Gannaur, Baraut, Sonipat, Sohna, Ballabgarh, Dadri, Ghaziabad and Faridabad, news agency ANI reported.
There were reports of many low-lying regions being submerged under water. Traffic movements were also disrupted in many parts of the city and neighbouring areas.
Heavy rain is forecast for the region for a day more. Thereafter, according to IMD, the intensify of rainfall is likely to decrease.
