Heavy rain alert issued for many states
PIB has also issued a weather advisory on its Twitter account.

Owing to the depression, the Met department said, heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely to happen in some parts of Telangana. It also cautioned of "rainfall at many places with heavy to very heavy falls at a few place over south Chhattisgarh and heavy at isolated over south interior Odisha and north Chhattisgarh during next 24 hours".
Meanwhile Government of India's Press Information Bureau (PIB) issued a weather advisory on its Twitter account.
"Heavy to very heavy rain at a few places with extremely heavy falls at isolated places very likely over Coastal Karnataka, Telangana, and Vidarbha; heavy rain at a few places with very heavy rain at isolated places very likely over Kerala," the tweet read.
"Heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places over Chhattisgarh and South Interior Karnataka and heavy rain at isolated places over SubHimalayan WB, Sikkim, Konkan, Goa, Marathwada, Odisha, MP, north Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal AP, North Interior Karnataka and Tamilnadu (sic)," it further added.

In Kerala, rains still pouring down heavily leading to flooding of dams and rivers across the state. The death toll due to floods in Kerala has now touched 79, according to reports.
