"We will complete hearings for the CAA soon," Adhikari told a press conference at the state secretariat 'Nabanna'.
The chief minister added that necessary directives have been sent to the authorities.
He further said that Governor RN Ravi has given his nod for the new Act enabling arrest of those attacking police, cost recovery for public property damage, and a notification was issued in this regard during the day.
The CM was referring to the West Bengal Public Safety and Control of Anti-Social Activities Bill, 2026, which was passed by the assembly recently.
