Hearing on JDS MLAs deferred

The hearing on the petition seeking disqualification of 39 JD(S) MLAs, including former CM Kumaraswamy, before Karnataka assembly speaker Krishna has been postponed till Nov 24.

BANGALORE: The hearing on the petition seeking disqualification of 39 JD(S) MLAs, including former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, before Karnataka assembly speaker Krishna has been postponed till November 24.

Though JD(S) national president HD Deve Gowda, who had been issued summons to appear before the speaker, failed to turn up on grounds of ill-health, lawyers representing the former PM contended that the summons were not actually served on him but were received by somebody else.

Consequently, the speaker decided to issue fresh summons to Gowda and postponed the hearing till November 24.
