Crediting his party for the medical colleges at Azamgarh and Kannauj, Akhilesh said there should at least be one medical college each at divisional and district level.
Addressing the gathering, Akhilesh said 500 additional medical seats had been created in the state to enable more and more students to study medicine.
He said his party has fulfilled all the promises made in its election manifesto due to which its tally has increased in by-polls for the state assembly.
"The government launched an ambulance service for poor and pregnant women, provided Kanya Vidyadhan and laptops...
"SP government has also worked in the field of paramedical and engineering as per its promise," he said.
Criticising the BJP-led government at Centre, Akhilesh alleged that it had failed on the promise of providing 24-hour power supply to the state and claimed that the state was not getting its quota of power and coal.
He directed the Nirman Nigam to complete the medical college before next assembly elections and said whatever funds required would be provided from CM fund and Poorvanchal Vikas Nidhi.
