BJP offered 100 cr, cabinet post to MLA's: Kumaraswamy
Janata Dal (Secular) state president HD Kumaraswamy made stunning revelations today, when he accused the BJP of horse-trading.

Addressing the media in Bengaluru, he said that Rs 100 crore was offered to each JD(S) MLA in return for switching to BJP. Adding to this, he also said that his MLAs were also induced with cabinet positions.

In a detailed address, he also repented on his decision to support the BJP in 2004 & 2005. He said, "There's a black spot on my father's career because of my decision to go with the BJP in 2004 & 2005. So God has given me opportunity to remove this black spot. So I am going with Congress."

Earlier today, he was unanimously elected leader of the JDS legislature party. He says no single party has got the mandate, and that for the sake of progress of Karnataka he has formed a secular alliance with the Congress. He says BJP's 104 is not a clear mandate and the party has no moral right to preach.

Espousing the cause of Dalits and the down-trodden remains the biggest focus of our party, stated Kumaraswamy.

He also said that any efforts made by the BJP to poach MLAs from either Congress or JD(S) would be counterproductive. He said," Forget 'Operation Kamal' being successful, there are people who are ready to leave BJP&come with us. If you try to poach one from ours, we'll do the same & take double from you."

In a direct reference which suggested t that the BJP juggernaut has been halted in the southern parts of India, he said," BJP's Ashwamedha Yatra started in North, the horses have been stopped in Karnataka. This verdict is to stop the Ashwamedha Yatra."

Saturday's election threw up a hung Assembly, with the BJP finishing with the largest number of seats but short of a majority. The Congress and the JD-S came at the second and third spot.
