NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Friday dismissed a petition seeking direction to the government for Intelligence Bureau reports on all contestants standing for the post of President.
"There is no merit in the case and the petition is dismissed," Justice B D Ahmed said on a petition filed by an NGO.
The petitioner had demanded IB reports on Presidential candidates including UPA-left nominee Pratibha Patil and NDA-backed independent candidate Bhairon Singh Shekhawat.
Earlier this week, the Court had imposed a cost of Rs 25,000 on the petitioner while dismissing a similar petition.
In that petition, the applicant had sought a CBI inquiry into the allegations against Patil.
