'RBI has become Reverse Bank of India'
With the Reserve Bank of India withdrawing its controversial notification on deposits of Rs 5,000 in old notes, Congress mocked it as a confused body working for a clueless government.

"Unfortunately, Reserve Bank of India has become Reverse Bank of India," Congress spokesman Randeep Surjewala said.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi tweeted a picture of a "confused traffic signal" -- with multiple traffic lights showing random colours -- to poke fun at the Centre.

The rollback jibe kept up the assault on the Modi government over demonetisation, which touched a new high after the last RBI notification made it mandatory that all old notes be deposited in one go, with deposits of over Rs 5,000 inviting detailed questioning at the bank. With RBI on Wednesday stipulating a new requirement of KYC-compliant accounts for depositing over Rs 5,000, Congress said it would create a class system among depositors.
