MUZAFFARNAGAR: Six persons, including the then Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Jansath Dinesh Saxena, have been booked for allegedly giving illegal lease of government land at Lukaheri village here, police said today.

Additional District Magistrate Ramkishan Sharma and tehsildar of Jansath Rakesh Kumar yesterday lodged an FIR with Jansath police station against six persons for giving on lease 23 hectares of land to 16 people on forged documents, they said.

The others who were booked are the then tehsildar of Jansath Devkinandan, two revenue clerks Shiv Kumar and Surender, former village head Budh Singh and Rahul Goel.

During inquiry, the allottees were not found in the village and the lease given to 16 people were found illegal , police said.

Several people, including revenue clerks, have been booked by the police after cases were registered against them on charges of grabbing government land worth several crores of rupees at Hastinapur sanctuary in the district.
