Hastinapur: NOC from forest dept necessary for arms license
MUZAFFARNAGAR: Uttar Pradesh government today said that residents of Hastinapur sanctuary areas in the district will not be issued arms licenses without an NOC from the forest department.

"The state government has made it mandatory to get No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the forest department for getting arms license in Hastinapur sanctuary area," additional district magistrate Indermani Tripathi said.

197 villages in Hastinapur sanctuary area have been identified for this rule, he said, adding that the decision was taken to protect wildlife and prevent illegal use of licensed arms in the area.
