Haryana government signs MoU with Michael & Susan Dell Foundation

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Government today signed a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) with Michael and Susan Dell Foundation with an aim to enable all government schools to achieve higher and increasing student learning level outcomes (LLOs) through Haryana School Quality Improvement Programme.

The MoU was signed by Vivek Attray on behalf of School Education Department and Debashish Mitter on behalf of Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, whose efforts among other things focus on urban programmes that foster high-quality education and childhood health, an official release said.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal were present during the signing of the MoU here, the release said.

The programme covering 15,000 government schools with 27 lakh students and 1.2 lakh teachers aims to further improve learning level outcomes of students.

Speaking on this occasion, Hooda said that parents as well as society must be involved while implementing Haryana School Quality Improvement Programme to achieve the desired results.

"Unless we involve the parents and the members of the society in the implementation of such programmes, the desired result would be difficult to achieve," he added.

Despite being a small state having only two per cent of total population of the country, Haryana had contributed significantly in several fields, the Chief Minister said.
