Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar allocates portfolios, Capt Abhimanyu gets Finance

The Haryana government finally decided on portfolios to be distributed among the new Cabinet Ministers. The decision was taken today late evening, at around 10:30 pm, after a meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at his residence.

Sources told ET that the Chief Minister and other Cabinet Ministers had met BJP President Amit Shah and other senior leaders of the saffron party.

Power and Irrigation, Home Department, Town and Country Planning Department will remain with Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Of the total 18 departments Khattar will handle include Mines & Geology, Science & Technology, Administration of Justice etc.

Ram Bilas Sharma is the State’s Education Minister. He has been given Education and Transport Department. He will look after nine departments including Parliamentary Affairs and Civil Aviation. Captain Abhimanyu is Haryana’s new Finance Minister. He has been given the Finance Department, Revenue and Disaster Management, Excise and Taxation Department. In total Abhimanyu will handle 13 departments.

O P Dhankar has been made the Agriculture Minister. He will also handle Irrigation, Development and Panchayats. Anil Vij has been made the State’s Health Minister. He will also take care of the Election and Sports & Youth Affairs Department.

Rao Narveer Singh will look after the Public Works (B & R) and Public Health Engineering Departmetns. Kavita Jain has been allotted Social Justice & Empowerment, Women and Child Development Departments.
