MDA scheme envisages financial assistance at 20% of production value.

Lal also approved rebate claims of about Rs. 52.34 lakh received by the Haryana Khadi and Village Industries Board for 2012-13 and 2013-14.

An official spokesman said the central government, under MDA scheme, provides 20% financial assistance which is shared by spinners and weavers, producing institutions and selling institutions in the ratio of 25%, 30% and 45%, respectively.

He said that MDA scheme would reenergise the Khadi industry in the state with financial assistance of about Rs 6 crore.

The chief minister has also approved a proposal of industries minister, Capt Abhimanyu, to formulate a detailed plan to promote the Khadi and village industries in the state by dovetailing other central government schemes in this regard to encourage spinners and weavers to produce value-added products of global standards, the spokesman said.
