CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda congratulated ISRO scientists and staff members on the successful launch of 'Mangalyaan', India's maiden mission to Mars and said they have made the country proud.

"The ISRO scientists and staff have made the country proud. They have successfully launched Indian rocket carrying the country's first Mars Orbiter from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh... I heartily congratulate them on their rare feat," Hooda said in a statement here.

Hooda said the milestone has placed India in a select club of countries.

"The launch not only allows India to leapfrog into the elite group of space explorers to Mars, but also earns Indian scientists a respectful place on the high table of global science," he said.
